Cool Reading Glasses and the Geeks, Nerds and Superheroes

Over the years, the need for men’s reading glasses, including women’s reading glasses has evolved from pure necessity to fashion statements. Websites and blogs about reading glasses have grown like mushrooms; Posheyewear.com as one of the leading websites marketing cool reading glasses has recorded a steady increase in traffic and annual sales.

Competition has become fiercer among eyeglass designers, each trying to outdo one another in terms of features and style. There is even a running joke in some quarters that if you truly want to “see” success, sell reading glasses.

Why this craze over reading glasses?

A random survey conducted among 25 people in various age groups on the benefits of reading glasses, aside from the obvious, generated the following results:

1. Image Enhancement. Who would not want to look “brainy”? It is a common notion that people who wear reading glasses read a lot (they should be!) and therefore know a lot.

2. Increase appeal on the opposite sex. Similar to item no. 1, the geek- look has either an “attract or repel” effect on women, but mostly on the positive. With reading glasses on, some less-attractive men can  make heads turn their way.

3. For Effect. Who can forget Superman in his best camouflage – a pair of men’s reading glasses? No matter how implausible it is to conceal one’s identity with just a pair of clear reading glasses, Superman, still has captured more hearts and box-office receipts than Batman in his mask and Robin in his eye-patch!

For more exciting looks, find your matching reading glasses online.  Posheyewear.com has a wide array of designer-reading glasses and those for casual wear that can enhance your image, increase your appeal and add a touch of super-hero machismo in you.  Believe it!
